I’m an experienced full-stack developer, manager and freelance writer.
I am also a voracious reader and run the Book Reviews website SFBook in my (limited) spare time. As a writer I’ve seen my work published in a variety of places, including the Los Angeles Times, the Guardian and Parallel Worlds.
I can develop in most environments but principally use php, MySQL / PostGreSQL and Js – vanilla or in frameworks including Symfony, Laravel and Codeigniter (amongst others). I’ve build everything from small websites to large, complex applications. I can also carry out DevOps (Linux and Windows), networking, computer support and fix most things that have a plug at the end (and some that don’t). I’ve got a degree in Management as well as Comptia and Microsoft qualifications. I have led teams small and large for corporations and sme’s. I’ve also got a great deal of experience in online marketing – paid and organic. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Google more than once. I’ve run big budget campaigns with hundreds of thousands of ads and millions of keywords. I’ve helped sites punch well above their weight in organic search.
More often than not you’ll find me on my Twitter account or occasionally over at Google webmaster forums. This site is updated whenever I get a free moment (which is rare), on here I write about anything that takes my interest at the time – mostly Gaming, SEO, Web Design, CodeIgniter or Laravel (my MVC of choice)
